Da Ban stream

It is located 16km east of the center of Duong Dong town – center of the Phu Quoc island.
On Duong Dong route 1km north, turning right along a bendy road, tourists will arrive at Da Ban stream – a wonderful natural site. The weather is as cool as that of Dalat and it is very quiet because there are not a lot of people here.

The stream rises from a high mountain range edging their way through big and flat stone slabs lying in series. It is so-called Da Ban stream.

The stream is so poetic and reminds people a water-colour painting with two gods playing chess on stone slabs

In addition, tourists can climb on stone slabs, deeply reach the upper origin to listen to the stream babbling and birds singing- like the music of forest - A kind of music that none of musical instrument

can completely express its melodious rhythm.

It is totally relaxing to rest on cool stone slabs while viewing blue sky and slowly flying white clouds as if sometimes stuck at leaf canopies affectionately and quiveringly. In a short while, time seems pausing, space backs to thousands of years ago, rough daily businesses fly out and leave space for the peaceful inner feelings.

Fishes in the stream goes here and there.

Collecting wild fruits, dipping in the stream, making fire in the cave or catching fish for grilling, tourists will have the most interesting meal. For a moment, we become cavemen in 20th century.

Dau fall

If tourists want to witness with their own eyes the local who has cleared the way, reclaimed the soil and made the village. On the way to the North island – Trang bridge section, tourists can turn to the northwest to visit Dau fall- area in process of reclamation.

Royal well- Throne

Setting out at An Thoi commune, the 2km inshore trail with flowers, fruits, weeds and tree shadows forgets relieves tourists tiredness. The clear blue water, in a while, turns up; white sandy beach edges its way around the foot of the mountain like embracing resting fishing-boat near the edge of the forest.
On the background of rolling mountains and sea and winding fogs and clouds, a small temple presents ahead on steep large rocks. The vestige of a majestic pink rock chair backing to the sea and facing the vast field was called the Throne.

It is said to be what the Nguyen King left after many times of running away from Tay Son force. Shoeprints in a quandary are still seen on stones.

Without water for his force, Nguyen Anh stamped his foot and pointed down the earth with a magic sword. Then, a fresh water current erupted. It is now called Royal Well or Magic Well.

One of Vietnam’s star attractions, mountainous and forested Phu Quoc is a splendid tropical getaway set with beautiful white-sand beaches and quaint fishing villages. Adventure comes in many forms here – from motorbiking the empty dirt roads circling the island to sea kayaking its quiet inlets, scuba diving the coral reefs or simply having a bang-up seafood meal followed by a cocktail on the beach. Once a sleepy, backpackers’ retreat, Phu Quoc has ramped up tourism significantly, and visitors can now choose between five-star resorts and rustic family-run bungalows. Plans are underway for developing the island even more heavily – a la Phuket style. If package tourism isn’t your bag, get there now before this happens. Read more >>
